About Perry Fotopoulos
Perry Fotopoulos has always had one foot in the wine business and the other in event production. Voted “Retail Wine Consultant of the Year” at the Midwest International Wine Exposition and certified as sommelier by the Master Court of Sommeliers in 1993. His midnight booze cruises were infamous, but eventually banned from Lake Michigan. He built “one of the top wine shops in America” according to Wine Enthusiast Magazine, while at night, his Crass Wine Society parties booked bands like The Smashing Pumpkins. D.O.A., and The Barbie Army and gave many club kids their first formal tasting of righteous wines.
Jim Boardman was his favorite caterer when he opened The Tasting Room on Randolph Street. They worked together, executing over 100 parties and weddings. After numerous awards and accolades, including “Best Casual Dining List in America” by the National Restaurant Association at The Monterey Wine Festival, Perry began co-producing The Taste of Randolph, Chicago’s largest street festival and booking all the entertainment.
Now, Perry calls on many of Chicago’s top restaurants for the Pure Wine Co.
